Whether it’s one of the large midwest landscape for which he is known, or one of the abstracts he has been creatively exploring recently, Roger Harvey’s current work examines a more abstract and spontaneous direction where the emphasis is on texture as well as composition and color relationships. Working primarily in mixed media acrylics on canvas, the process incorporates layering of colors, mediums and textures aiming to create a dialogue between painter and viewer.

On Saturday, October 1, 2022, Fall Into Art begins with a self-guided afternoon tour through beautiful Michiana of 8 local artists’ studios. Meet the artists, see more of their work and get a behind-the-scenes peek into their craft. The tour is immediately followed by a cocktail party at Color Pop Salon in New Buffalo. There will be a live auction of art and more, hosted by Janet Davies, as well as an amazing raffle.
Artists include Floyd Gomph, Roger Harvey, Linda Hoffhines, Dave Knoebber, Frank Kurland, Andy Mahoney, Colleen Newquist, Rick Ott and Michael Weiss.

This year Roger is offering the few remaining landscape giclees in various sizes and prices, they feature some of his most popular images. They will be priced to sell so get there early if you are interested. This is also the first public showing of his most recent abstracts.

About
ROGER HARVEY
Born in Torquay, England, in 1942, Roger Harvey immigrated to the United States in 1956 where he attended Chicago's American Academy of Art and the School of the Art Institute.
Roger started out as a graphic designer in 1965, eventually building his own Chicago studio, RHI Design. Working with both ad agencies and direct corporate clients, he designed mail campaigns, packaging in store displays and corporate logos. He has won numerous graphic awards and has been published extensively throughout his career.
Mr. Harvey was a member of the Graphic Artist Guild and NARAS (National Association of Recording Arts & Sciences). He has designed more than 50 record albums and compact disk covers, and was on the Chicago Chapter's jury that votes for Grammy Awards in the category of Album Graphics.
